Beautes

Here comes another yet of beauties from Martha Davis' workshop. Her shoes always seem both ancient and futuristic. Like any good accessory or piece of art, every cut and fold seems perfectly planned and made with function and beauty equally in mind.

Pitchfork Anticipation

Pitchfork Anticipation

some of the items I hope to be sporting come this July
from left to right: shorts by R13, sweater by Opening Ceremony, dress by Vanessa Bruno, bag by Sonia by Sonia Rykiel, boots by Opening Ceremony, sandals by Dolce Vita, shirt by Vanessa Bruno, shirtdress by Etoile Isabel Marant, sweater by Weekday, bustier by Shakuhachi, sneakers by Philippe Model

With all of the blogs and websites buzzing with updates from Cochella, I've decided to focus my attention on the music festival I am most looking forward to this year, Pitchfork in Chicago!!! The set list nearly brings me to tears it is so beautiful (I'm especially excited to see Tame Impala)... so it is only fitting that the outfits I wear are equally as incredible. Sine the wisest way to dress is in layers, I plan on stuffing my baby-sized carry-on bag to its limit with pieces I can get a disgusting amount of wear out of. I have a feeling that I will change my mind and packing list many, MANY times between now and July, but I recommend the activity of outfit planning to anyone trying to avoid the Cochella blues right now. Maybe next year, Cochella!

Why?

I apologize in advance to any of my readers that find these things attractive, but these shoes are nothing short of ATROCIOUS. Not only are they dangerous to their owner, but they are a threat to everyone within kicking distance. wham...bam... In my opinion, the only reason I can find for these shoes being designed, made, AND sold are to replace the need for pepper spray on a shoe enthusiast's keychain. That all being said, good luck to the daring ladies wearing these, you'll be repelling muggers and potential friends/ boo-loves with only one accessory... Fucking congrats!

Beauty In The Form Of A Sweater

There are few things I love more than oversized sweaters. Whether it's mid-summer in Florida or late December in New York, I always have such a sweater somewhere in my luggage. And this one shown on the oh-so-beautiful Mary Kate Olsen, is no exception. From Jeremy Scott's F/W 2008 "Opulence" collection, this sweater is one of Scott's more modest and subdued pieces among his usual wild work. Scott's depiction of foxes on this sweater is simple yet unique and classical... Truly a perfect sweater.
